As is the case for everywhere in Canada, in Quebec snow falls at altitude and in lower areas too. Try a new way to ski at the foot of the mountains in Canada. Set off on a journey along trails that weave through snow-covered forests, with snowshoeing and cross-country skiing both available. Explore the Sentier des Caps at your own pace, as you snake between pines and steep cliffs. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing both make thrilling ways to explore the superb winter scenery of eastern Canada.

Tobogganing

All ages can whizz down the Charlevoix slopes on an alpine toboggan. This activity is perfect as an introduction to winter sports before you tackle Canada’s ski slopes. The Charlevoix toboggan run is 7.7 km long, making it the longest in Quebec and one of the biggest in Canada. Near the Resort and ski resort, with the Saint Lawrence River in the background, climb up high in the massif and off you go!

The snow season is also the cycling season on the slopes of Charlevoix and the trails of Hautes-Gorges and the village of La Malbaie. But when the roads and trails are covered in white, you travel around on a fat bike. Hop on this surprising steed and cross the wide-open snow-covered spaces of eastern Canada. On a fat bike, snowy trails and frozen lakes are no problem, meaning you can access all of Canada’s stunning scenery.

2 - Skiing in Canada

The different regions

From British Columbia to Northern Canada, Alberta and Quebec, Canada’s snow makes it a great place to ski. Boardsports enthusiasts love the country for its many ski resorts.
One of the most famous is in the west, in the town of Whistler. This little village in British Columbia is a skiing hotspot, and even hosted some of the events at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.
Further east, the **Rocky Mountains in Alberta **have beautiful slopes ideal for skiing. Surrounded by this green and white scenery, the town of Banff is home to one of Alberta’s most popular resorts.
Western Canada and the Quebec region also see lots of snow and boardsport activity. Quebec has various ski resorts, including Mont Tremblant, Mont Sainte Marie, Mont Sainte Anne, Camp Fortune and Charelevoix, where our Club Med Québec Charlevoix Resort is located.

Skiing in Charlevoix

From the Resort, the ski lifts take you to Charlevoix: one of the most beautiful ski resorts in all of Canada. Perched on the snow-covered, tree-lined slopes, the ski area has breathtaking views of the region and the Saint Lawrence River.
While you’re up there, slip on your skis, or jump on your snowboard, and hit the white slopes of Charlevoix. The top of the ski area has an astonishing 53 runs descending to the riverbanks. Several levels are available, and seasoned skiers can even go off-piste. The Charlevoix ski resort is a family-friendly and sporty place that's a must for any ski enthusiast in Canada.
