After a long flight, my mom and I were greeted with hospitality and kindness by the reception staff. Talia, Susana, and Alonzo were an amazing reception team, welcoming us with warm smiles. Talia even took time to show my Mom and I around the resort and walked us to our room.
I visited Club Med April 2025 during spring break week. The resort was fully booked but didn’t feel overcrowded because of its thoughtful layout and countless activities.
The bellboys were efficient, and gentle handling the luggage. Our luggage was in our room just minutes after we stepped in. So speedy quick! And when we checked out, the bellboy retrieved our luggage and safely kept it in a holding area so we could enjoy the afternoon at the beach before our flight home.
The housekeeping team was exceptional! The ladies cleaned our room with such great care, leaving enough towels, restocking bottled water and removing all traces of sand that had been trekked in.
We participated in many wonderful activities at Club Med. I really enjoy paddle boarding and kayaking.
I was intrigued by sailing and was so pleased to hear that Club Med offers sailing lessons. Our sailing instructor was very knowledgeable, patient and kind. He really took his time, over 30 minutes, giving instructions in English, French, and Spanish and answered questions, making all guests feel comfortable and heard.
As someone who is a picky/plain eater with food allergies/aversions, I was a bit worried coming into this trip that I wouldn’t find food I enjoyed and would go hungry, which has happened on past trips at different non Club Med resorts. However, the kitchen staff at La Hacienda (buffet style dining area) were amazing at preparing all types of food, something for all guests of any age to enjoy.
Chef Irad was amazing at accommodating my food allergies (peanuts, tree nuts, and dairy).
One or two of the pastas were cooked with olive oil instead of butter, making it allergy friendly and enjoyable.
Chef Irad was also accommodating towards my mom who is a vegan. He understood what vegan meant and he went out of his way to make personal sized vegan desserts for my mom and also made sure there was an array of vegan food options for her, and other plant based guests. Chef Irad even let my mom know that next time we come to Club Med to communicate with the staff at time of booking the trip, so he has more time to prepare. My mom was hoping for tofu and we were both hoping for more vegan ice cream (coconut or oat milk based) in the future. As I’m dairy free and really wanted to enjoy ice cream but couldn’t have any, besides a sweet green sorbet.
Chef Irad was just downright amazing, understanding knowledgeable, and caring.
The rest of the kitchen staff were incredible, replenishing dishes and keeping the area clean and hygienic. As soon as we sat down would ask you what you’d like to drink. My mom and I usually got sparkling water (in Spanish, agua minérales.)
My mom enjoys drinking warm water and the staff would always fill her huge hydroflax thermos with utmost care. Before we sat down with our food, they would approach and say “Agua caliente y agua minerales”
They took time to observe guests and met their needs before the guest even could ask.
Axel was amazing at knowing what my mom and I needed and was always quick to take our empty plates away or bring more ketchup when I ran out before I could go get some myself.
The GO’s were all so friendly, kind, helpful, and funny! Every night at dinner and sometimes for lunch, a GO would sit with us. They would recommend activities to do at Club Med and excursions to possibly enjoy.
GO Talia, Susana, Alfonzo, Jersey, Jack Power and his friend who I’m forgetting his name (so sorry) were just downright amazing.
They went above and beyond.
GO Nelson, who taught the Aquagym class, was amazing! He brought so much energy into the class and helped everyone feel seen and empowered. He encouraged everyone and included every person of all ages into the fun water aerobics style class.
The main pool and aquamarine pool were so clean. Every morning and throughout the day, staff would clean the pool environment. Making sure there is no sand, which can make the area slippery, or leafs and bugs in or around the pool area.
The main beach and beach near the water sports was also very clean. The water was clear turquoise blue and the sand was so white! There was a lot of seaweed that would wash up on shore overnight but by morning, the staff worked on clearing it out, using shovels and a bulldozer while guests enjoyed breakfast. After breakfast, most of the seaweed was cleaned up. I enjoyed swimming in the ocean and felt safe doing so as there were lifeguards and beach security patrolling the area.
The water slides were incredibly fun and a wonderful addition. Club Med has a kids cub and teens club with age appropriate activities and caring and kind GOs.
There were so many activities to participate in during the day and different shows every night.
Some activities that I enjoyed were:
paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, going down the waterside, swimming in the ocean, swimming in the pool, yoga, trapeze, archery, soccer, beach volleyball.
Overall, I had a great trip to Cancun, Mexico and an incredible stay and experience at Club Med!
