Bintan Island Indonesia

Spent 5 days here at the end of May. Wanted husband to experience a Club Med as I had been a few times to Bali decades ago, when my girls were little. It was very different to pre covid days where you would share tables with other guests. I loved that part of the experience but understand the reasoning behind the change. So didn’t really get to interact with others all that much.
The staff really ARE the heart & soul of this place. They make you feel so welcome. I hope they are paid what they are worth because they do make the stay SO much better.
As with all CM food & drink is included. The food was abundant with a huge choice. We ate mostly in the dining room but twice went down to The Terrace restaurant for dinner & a couple of times for a late lunch. It is smaller venue & offers an A la Carte menu. The staff were just delightful. The 2nd night we ate there was because of the hotel’s very low occupancy numbers (around 67) & so they closed the main dining room. The food that night was the best meal we had at CM. Crab bisque, scallops, Tornadoes Rossini (fillet steak) & dessert (which we didn’t eat because we were full!). Also we were entertained by a fabulous guitarist/singer - can’t remember his name …was it James or Thomas? Or neither?? He had a sublime voice.
I had a couple of massages at the spa. So good - very professional & a beautiful set up overlooking the water. Very zen! The staff again, took it to the next level. The activities on offer are varied & we participated in a few - driving range/gym/aqua & a power walk to the golf course. Boy it was hot!!
All the staff are very engaged & really work hard to involve guests. Don’t know how much down time they get as most nights they were sitting with guests having dinner. Our last night we were joined by Noor from events, the delightful Ardhan from (I think) housekeeping & smiley Chris - manager of the Spa. What lovely dinner companions. We really enjoyed talking to them & finding out where they came from. Had pre dinner drinks at the beach bar a few times. We were served by the wonderful Hasan (spelling?). His good nature & his laugh always made me laugh - it was so infectious. What a gem. I was on the look out for the monkeys as I really wanted to see one, but never saw did until the day we left - on the drive outside of the resort.
I tried hard to remember the names of staff who I felt went above & beyond but my memory fails me. As mentioned

The only negative I have is there needs to be some SERIOUS money spent to update & repair the resort. It really makes the whole place feel rundown. The pool surface is quite bad. The roof leaks outside the pool bar when there’s heavy rain. Which fortunately only happened on our last day there.

Our stay at Club Med Bintan was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, the GOs made us feel so welcome, especially GO Jacky Feng who went above and beyond to ensure our family had the best experience. His warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care truly stood out—thank you, Jacky!

The activities were endless—whether it was water sports, yoga, or evening shows, there was never a dull moment. But the real highlight was the Mini Club! The teachers there are simply amazing; my son had so much fun that he didn’t want to leave. Every day was filled with games, crafts, and adventures, and we could see how happy and engaged they were.

The whole atmosphere was so vibrant and friendly, thanks to the incredible GO team. We left with unforgettable memories and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend Club Med Bintan for families with kids—it’s a true paradise for kids and parents alike!

Great varieties of activities especially the aerial yoga was my first! Had so much fun! Wall climbing was my first activity and I met the friendliest GO - Athena ever who was so nice and kept on checking in on us thru the stay! Love the way she host her class and activity ❤️ My kids had fun interacting with her as well. Thanks for the fun experience!

It was a great first time experience with Club Med as my kids enjoyed every bit of it.

The Mini Club was great at taking care of my kids and the GOs get to know them well. Kids built rapport with the mini club GO rather quickly. Just one complain from my kid was the walks to different activity site was too far and the time spend at each place was too short.

With the kids at club med, we enjoyed our session at Tennis, fitness and snorkeling classes. Booking of the activities has to be on side for some like Cooking which we missed. So you have to plan what you want to do the day and the next day.

Food and Drinks were good. Quality of their Steak during the Dinning under the stars was good.
I found my favorite cocktail the Blue Lagoon at Club Med.

Only had 1 issue with the trip was that during the transfer from Terminal to resort, they tried squeeze all the passengers into the tour bus which was rather uncomfortable to start a trip. We couldn't board it after going up as it was full and had to wait for the next bus to pick us. We had the bus all to ourselves but it would have been better if they had split it up initally.

Overall a very nice place to visit but from what I understand this place is pricier than Bali, Phuket and Malaysia club meds. Will try other club meds when my kids can kayak with me when they are above 6.

From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The kids had the best time ever at the mini club. The Mini Club staff was excellent. Thank you mini club team, but not only the mini club staff, but all of the staff was incredible, Thank you Mr. Julien the GM, Leo, Matthew,Rey,Lucky,Lia,Kerrie, Sandy for the Yoga experience, Sentha for being sooooo good with the kids, thank you for the little gift.

The resort itself offers so many activities that kept our family entertained.
