Villas Finolhu REPÚBLICA DAS MALDIVAS

Stunning location. Great staff & wonderful food served in the most exquisite location. Not the cheapest but worth every penny. we took our two 10 yr old boys who were well looked after by a great team of dedicated staff. (The only kids there)

Clubmed Finolhu exceeded all my expectations, it was truly a tranquil, tailored and luxury experience - I can recommend this hotel as the bext one in Maldives that we have been in.

Some highlights:

• Service quality is what makes this hotel really standout. Our butler Ada was super welcoming, helpful, and she really went the extra mile for us during the whole stay. You interact with hotel manager Manuel often which gives that additional feeling of comfort and being a part of hotel family. All the chefs, waiters, entertainment staff are super positive, helpful and want to meet your every need. Such extreme quality of service made us feel pampered and so well taken care of.
• Food was outstanding. Elaborate dishes at every meal, with high quality ingredients, the menus are always different and the desserts are as good as if you were in best cafes of Paris. For dinner you also have payable options, such as lobster or Wagyu for that added luxury touch
• The white night is so much fun, I wish we planned our stay to do two of these nights
• The facilities are very luxurious and the finishes are well thought out. Rooms are spacious, modern, with details that really give that extra convenience
• It's a very idyllic hotel. Everything is organised for privacy - you get that feeling of being few quests even tho it was 80% full during our stay. Finolhu is 8+ hotel, so it's best suited for adults who are looking for that peaceful holiday. We had 11 year old with us, she had the best vacation, but you do have kids club on Kani if that's of interest
• The SPA is very good, the treatment was customised to our preferences so it was particularly relaxing
• Marine life is WOW, so much variety and on daily basis you meet sharks, rays, turtles. Snorkelling trip is twice a day, also there are some home coral reefs you can swim to by yourself
• The sister island Kani is accessible by a regular boat and all their facilities are available to Finolhu guests.

In summary, everything you could wish for you will find on Finolhu. You feel like a royal there. I sincerely hope to come back soon.

The quality of food could have been better. It did not meet my expectations. Swimming at the beachs was not very enjoyable because the water was shallow. The villa ( the sun rise) we stayed in was decorated very tastefully. The decoration of the other areas was also quite stylish. Overall, the facility isnew and well- maintained. The service was generally good, and the staff were helpful.

we had a full 5 days at the overwater sunset villa. the sun was great, i left with a great tan with no sunburns without sunscreen on my body (except for my face of course). however the programs were few and repetitive for 5 days so we only went snorkeling for 3 days. we were in the ocean and private pool so much we didn’t want to soak in the gorgeous and plenty big bath tub in the villa. our camera roll have so many photos of the clean villa, variety of food served during meals and marine creatures in fhr ocean. but our memories will forever remember the 100 sandfly bites on our legs (mostly). i highly suspect it’s from the beach right in front of the restaurant as we were drawing in the sand after lunch on day 2. i slapped one with blood when i finally noticed a few flying at my legs and clearly thinking it wasn’t a mosquito. there were no mosquitoes at the finolhu villa. day3 morning we woke up to the craziest itch and saw the horrible bites on both our legs (mostly). on day4, even the staff commented that it was the worst she has ever seen. by day5, my partner’s bites (no less that 60 on her) developed into weeping blisters and were double the original size (she has more sensitive skin). for a lady, i worry that her beautiful fair legs may be forever scarred from the bites as they are still recovering from the bites at day6 now.

Stayed here as part of a 40th Wedding Anniversary trip.

The place was fantastic, private Sunrise villa (overwater) with deck and swimming pool, 10 steps to the ocean.

Dining was very good with very attentive staff in the restaurant. Anwar greeted us with a warm smile every day be it at 7 am for breakfast, or 7pm for dinner. The meals were exceptional with a good choice of cuisine. If needed a quick call on the internal phones resulted in a golf buggy to move us to and from our villa.

House keeping staff attended twice daily to tidy, sweep make beds and turn down service in the evening.

The personal butler, Cruise, was just okay. On arrival he setup up a what's app group on our mobiles to allow us to contact him, however there were no personal visits from him to check on us.

This was a slight let down given that he should have been keeping in contact with face to face visits as he is considered to be "front of house staff."

Various daily activities to keep us amused and busy or just laze the day away on the deck day bed. Several nights the restaurant moved to the beach or swimming pool area for meals outside, Again excellent food and service.

Would recommend and would stay here again if the opportunity presents.
