What is there not to like?! Everything from A-Z was spectacular. We would just mainly like to highlight the team who took care of the kids over the course of our week at Ixtapa Pacific. Namely, we would like to recognize the team who took care of our children on two occasions at the Baby Club and Mini club. Sophie, Sammie, Jessica ... THANK YOU!! Our son has exceptional needs and we were apprehensive to use this service at first, but we could not be more grateful for the help and the kindness they showed our son. We also loved Sammie's gentle and inclusive approach with our daughter at the 4 - 7 club. Our daughter can be shy but Sammie alwavs made sure to include her in all the activities. You can just tell that these girls were in right place and love what they do. Finally, we would like to give a special shout-out to Holly at the trapeze school, who finally gave our daughter the courage to take the leap, and gave her the most fabulous tiger striped body paint on Neon Colours night. The girls mentioned above definitely kept the party going for our children all week long and we just wanted to thank them once more!! Honestly, we were very impressed overall with the exceptional service we received at this resort and never wanted to leave! It was paradise all-around. Thank you Club Med Ixtapa Pacific for the best family vacation we’ve ever had!!

We stayed at the Club Med at Punta Cana last year, and liked Ixtapa much better. It's half the size, and you really get to know many other GMs and the GOs. Bruno, Geraldo, Paulo, and Pablo were especially friendly and helpful. The manager Daniel was also friendly and accommodating.

I read that the bedrooms are outdated, but ours was very nice (Pajaro building). My only complaints are that the pillows are too hard, and there are too few electrical outlets. The food was outstanding. We loved Roberto's pasta dishes, and the salads. I also read complaints that there is only one coffee machine, which is not true. There are 3 in the main dining room and at each bar.

We had a great time sailing, kayaking, and in the pool, and enjoyed the daily power walks and aqua-gym. The evening entertainment was a lot of fun. There were no children around all day; then they all came out of the kids' clubs at dinner time, and seemed to have a great time.

I recommend this Club Med for couples and families!

We love this little Club Med, we were there both Feb 2024 and Feb 2025, hope to make it annual, or more. It's a smaller club, the activity GOs knew our names by the second day. It's like summer camp, lots of great activities with amazing coaches, we enjoyed tennis everyday with Julio, Luna and Jorge, and trapeze every afternoon with Pablo, Holly, Ceci and Edgar. Our skills improved so much, the trapeze team in particular made it feel like I had private coaches for the week and I got to learn so many new tricks! It was fun to get to know other guests who participated in similar activities throughout the week, the people we meet here are generally active and friendly. The nightlife is perfect for us, the shows are funny with some gems of talent to be found, especially as you get to know the GOs throughout the week. The evening dance floor activity was also really fun, perfect intro to Latin style dancing and of course the Club Med crazy signs get more fun as you learn them through the week. Beach is beautiful, clean, no seaweed, we spend most afternoons reading on the beach and never had a problem finding a shady spot with available chairs - no need to get up super early and save a chair. Water was calm enough most days to SUP or swim in the am and a light breeze in the pm for sailing. This might not be the club to select if you want vibrant bar/nightlife, extraordinary water sports (it is great for beginning sailing, but otherwise not a watersport destination), or with teens who might need a larger resort to find more peers. We tipped our regular servers at the end of the week, as we had gotten to know them and service was excellent, we never felt like we had to tip to get good service, as we have experienced with other resort brands, and we managed to get 2 nights at the a-la-carte dining option, simply by lining up at the time they said reservations would be available. I love a vacation that does not require me to think/plan/constantly evaluate logistics, but that does give me enough to do, and this is it. It's a playful little resort.

We recently returned to ClubMed Ixtapa for the first time in over a decade. We had fond memories of our times there in the past when our kids were younger and post COVID we thought we’d try and see if the magic was still there. It was! It felt like home. There have clearly been changes and some aging of the property, but overall we had a wonderful time and will be going back. People complain about the food…but it was truly excellent in my opinion. Fresh, and prepared by very pleasant friendly people who greeted us each day/meal.

The team was also excellent. Katia was instrumental in helping prepare a Valentine’s Day surprise for my wife upon arrival. The circus team was exceptional. Every interaction we had with GOs, housekeeping and grounds keeping teams and the leaders of sports and creative activities including the bar tenders, front desk staff were warm, welcoming and wonderful.

With all the positives, the property does need some updates and work. Most notably, the sewage/water treatment system clearly needs some investment. None of us got sick, which has happened at other club med properties in the past, never at Ixtapa, but there was a persistent smell of sewage in and around our buildings and in the restrooms around the resort. Attempts were made to mask it with scented candles etc, but the problem needs to be more meaningfully addressed…the smell is at risk of spoiling an otherwise beautiful setting. This is a tough problem, as our eldest daughter reminded us. She attended a highly rated private college and the same smell wafted through the lower hallways and cafeteria of her dorm during her time there. Still, ClubMed…please try and address this for our future vacations.
