Cancún Mexico

I stayed at club med in Cancun, Mexico and while I was there two employees angel and alonso worked at the bar every night and gave me and my friends an amazing time. From drink suggestions to wide smiles they made my vacation 100 times better. Another employee, Leo, always said hi to me and showed me around the resort when I first arrived. Thanks to these three my trip was amazing and I would love to come back simply because of them.

Our family has been going to Club Med’s for many years. This is our 5th time at Club Med Cancun. The years have taken its toll on this resort but it is the GO’s and the resort workers that keep us coming back. I would like to give praise to two restaurant workers in particular. Both Orlando and Leidi made our family vacation special. They learned it was a 90th birthday for a family member, and they went ALL out…cake, decorations and even singing Happy Birthday! I hope they get the recognition they deserve. ORLANDO and LEIDI are very special. Thank you!!!

Outstanding service, especially during meals with orlando and leidi.

I did have a problem with my toilet but I reported it and it was promptly fixed. All of the staff are extremely friendly.

I very much recommend this club med. The food was good too.

Loved our stay here at Club Med Cancun. We stayed in the Jade Collection and the staff was extremely kind and welcoming. I unfortunately cannot remember everyone’s names, but Daniel, Adamir, and Keny were all exceptionally friendly and made sure we were well taken care of during our stay!

One of our favorite excursions was the Isla Mujeres golf cart tour. Adrien was our guide. He was funny and extremely knowledgeable about the area! Not only that, but him and his whole crew went out of their way to make sure we all had a safe and memorable excursion. We got to see the national park, learn about different Mayan sites, and swim in the beautiful ocean (with drinks of course!). Would 100% book again with him and his crew!

We stayed at Club Med Cancun from May 29 - June 4 with 2 young kids aged 3 and 1. I’ll breakdown each area for review.

ROOMS:
We stayed at the Topacio building. Our room was generously sized and well laid out. The AC worked well! However, that’s as far as the positives go!

1. We arrived to a room with only 1 bath towel, a blow dryer that didn’t work, no robes or slippers, not much toilet paper, balcony was still dirty.
2. Our toilet wouldn’t flush many times and we had to have maintenance come by.
3. We had dirty sheets with blood stains on them.
4. The balcony is SO small that you can’t walk between the chair and railing.
5. Many light switches and outlets did not work.
6. And as many other reviews have stated, the rooms are very dated and worn!

MAIN BEACH:
The main beach was conveniently located beside our building. We loved the soft white sand and the blue sea! There was always available beach chairs and shade! We loved the salt water and finding shells in the sea! The beach is clean and food and drink is not far away.

AQUAMARINA BEACH:
We did not get to use the beach due to the massive amounts of sargassum seaweed. Coming in June, we understood this may happen. There were some staff trying to clean it up with shovels but there was just too much!

AQUAMARINA POOL & SPLASHPAD:
This is the reason we chose CM Cancun and it did not disappoint! We spent a lot of time here and everyone loved it! The family pool has plenty of seating and shade around the pool! The area is very clean. My kids especially loved the water fountains at the end of the pool. The splash pad and waterpark were a HUGE hit! All 4 of us enjoyed our days there! The only thing I would suggest is to add more seating and umbrellas!
The only negative about this area is the bartenders at the family pool bar. It seemed like we were such an inconvenience to them, even for my 3 year old asking for a drink or a cup of fruit.

LA HACIENDA:
Good food selection. It is more Americanized but we enjoyed our meals. The ice cream station was a favourite for my kids! I found that quite a few of the plates were dirty with previous food residue on them. The buffet is also not easily accessible with young kids or strollers having to climb up the large staircase.

We found the resort to be very spread out and separated making it more difficult for families especially with young kids or elderly. The positive is that they do have golf carts running back and forth but we did encounter a couple times having to wait because they were full.
Overall, we had a good week but I think we will choose another location for the next vacation.
