A trip to Bodrum in Turkey

Bodrum is often cited as the most beautiful seaside destination in Turkey. It is located on the magnificent Gulf of Gokova in the south-west of the country. Bodrum is best known as a luxury destination because of the luxury yachts that moor there and the high standard of the restaurants, hotels and clubs.

Bodrum is a centuries-old fishing village that has continually evolved over time. You can admire the pretty quaint white houses typical of the provinces of the Ottoman Empire, but there are also plenty of modern hotels.
In the fishing port, fishing boats gently bob up and down next to modern sailboats. Enjoy delicious freshly caught seafood dishes at one of the many restaurants on the harbour. With its impressive stone walls and moat, the castle of St. Peter (also known as Bodrum Castle) guards the Bodrum peninsula and is well worth a visit. Inside, you can visit the Museum of Underwater Archeology and admire the famous Glass Wreck, a Phoenician ship, and the tomb of the Princess of Corinth.
A scuba session in the area is highly recommended; the city is home to several excellent diving spots.

Other interesting excursions not to be missed during your Bodrum family holidays include the mausoleum of Halicarnassus which is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the ancient Roman amphitheatre and the eight windmills located to the south-west of the city.

Enjoy lazy days by the Mediterranean Sea

Travel to Turkey in summer to enjoy the bright sun and the coastline. Bodrum family holidays can be enjoyed by children of all ages, from small toddlers to older teens.
In Bodrum, relax on Bitez Beach near the centre or Bardakci Beach in the eponymous bay. These two beaches are small but comfortable. Many tourists love the wider and child-friendly beach at the nearby resort of Gümbet.
For a lively holiday atmosphere, head to the beach of Göltürkbükü. Beach clubs have set up wooden boardwalks in the shallow water, where you can lie in the sun during the day and party in the evening.

Where history, tradition and modernity are intertwined

The marina is connected to the castle of Saint Peter, which dates from the 15th century, by a long pleasant walk. The district of the port city remains lively thanks to the Grand Bazaar located close to the castle and is a veritable swarm of shops, bars and restaurants.
The east of the fortress is dedicated to nightlife with trendy beach clubs and nightclubs that attract crowds each summer.
Some like to compare Bodrum with Saint-Tropez for its paradisiacal coastline, its luxurious pleasure boats, its quiet walking areas and its lively clubs arriving in the evening. Organize your trip to Bodrum with Club Med and leave with wonderful memories to last a lifetime.
